Agricultural risk insurance

Specific agricultural insurance products are designed for all entities in the field of agriculture.

Crop insurance primarily covers adverse weather conditions – gales, hailstorms, floods, fire, winter damage, spring frost.

Animal insurance then covers damage to livestock in the event of their death, killing or forced slaughter. Possible causes are natural hazards (such as fire), as well as dangerous diseases, poisoning and injuries, and the damage may be individual or collective.

This category may also include forest insurance, where forest stands are protected primarily against fires and gales, i.e. the danger of wind-fallen trees. Supplementary insurance can be taken out to cover rehabilitation of the damaged area, i.e. extraction and reforestation.
